Budapest, October 2014
The initial project meeting was held between 27 and 29 October 2014 in the European Youth Centre in Budapest. This event coincided with the closing conference of another joint project entitled Common Goals – Common Ways, which was carried out by the same group. The representatives of each partner organization delivered a presentation.
As a first step the members of Edunet Foundation gave an overall picture about the complete winning application. All the potential partners took part in the preparation process of the new project, they have jointly confirmed the aims of the project and specified the tasks step by step. They have agreed on timings, the agenda, and outlined the locations and dates of the international meetings. They have in addition, briefly shared information related to documentation and financial management and collated any open issues.
The partners shared out fields of responsibility related to project operation. The Hungarian partners were commissioned with project management and quality insurance. The German partners took up responsibility for the orderly process of communication, whereas the Polish members took responsibility for dissemination and valorization. The Scottish partners were commissioned to look after general risks and to provide against eventual difficulties. Sharing responsibility was not to limit each partner’s involvement to specific fields – the group norms expect each partner to participate in all specific activities.
The German colleagues gave a presentation and promoted an online surface for work and communication (qualiboxx.de) which has been used by ETC for a long time. The participants liked their presentation; the group accepted the German suggestion and decided to use this online system when working together. The German colleagues have offered to develop a closed communication surface and data base for the RLG project and prepare an English language guide for the partners.
The members of Cracow University have shared up-to-date statistical data on the development trends of the European economy, on the operation of small enterprises, unemployment and particularly on the employment opportunities of NEET youth. Utilizing the facts and information they have jointly identified the subject fields of a foundation study. They have also agreed on building the structure of country status reports as a preparatory basis for a comparative study.
- The significant features of social-economic-cultural environment.
- Opportunities available for the target group in the fields of personal and social competence development.
- The role and development of entrepreneurial skills in public education
In the course of the discussion a possibility emerged: to build the subject of voluntary and social entrepreneurship into the training programme and to develop a joint thesaurus. They have developed the idea of making a SWOT analysis by each country and examining the status of young people based on interviews. Finally the partners agreed to identify instruments of measurement in their own countries and look at potential partners for doing local and practical training.
The participants enjoyed a sightseeing tour of Budapest as part of our meeting.
